The City of Killeen will participate in an emergency response training exercise May 7 along with Fort Hood, American Airlines and American Red Cross. The public is advised that this is a simulated emergency event and poses no public threat.
Emergency response measures will be primarily conducted on West Fort Hood. Installation and community first responders will react to the emergency simulation, and the public may observe emergency lights and sirens, smoke, sound, visual effects and various role-players.
Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport and Killeen Arts & Activities Center will also be locations used as part of the training exercise. No interruptions to airport operations or Activities Center programs will be caused.
