Killeen City Council appointed Ron Olson as its new city manager February 7. Mr. Olson began work February 8.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. Olson to the City of Killeen and look forward to working with him,” said Mayor Jose Segarra. “He has a tremendous amount of experience, and we believe that he will be a true asset to Killeen.”
Ron Olson has more than 38 years of local government experience and has served five cities as city manager and one county as county administrator. He most recently served as City Manager of Corpus Christi. Olson has also worked for Polk County, Iowa, and the cities of Arlington, Texas, Middletown, Ohio, Belding, Michigan, and West Jordan, Utah. He is an ICMA Credentialed Manager and holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Political Science from Brigham Young University.
