The City of Killeen has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2015 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). Additionally, the City's Finance and Audit departments received an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement for preparing the award-winning financial report.
The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by the government's management. The award of achievement recognizes the individual departments most responsible for preparing the report in the spirit of full disclosure.
"Because the primary purpose of developing a CAFR is to communicate vital financial information to the city and its citizens, winning this award is particularly gratifying," said Interim City Manager Ann Farris. "The audit and finance teams are dedicated to communicating completely, expeditiously and transparently; receiving this award is directly attributable to their work."

GFOA was established in 1906 as a non-profit professional association. It now serves approximately 17,500 government finance professionals to enhance and promote the professional management of governmental financial resources for benefit of the public.
