[ARCHIVED] City of Killeen releases third COVID-19 PSA

Council woman and healthcare professional, Nina Cobb, featured in video

KILLEEN, Texas (Sep. 13, 2021) – Council woman Nina Cobb is featured in the latest COVID-19 public service announcement being released by the City of Killeen today.

Mayor Jose Segarra and Killeen City Council members have been encouraging citizens to do their part to keep Killeen safe, and get their COVID-19 shots in a series of videos and fliers over the last month.

Council woman Cobb is a healthcare professional who has been working throughout the pandemic and seeing firsthand the toll COVID-19 can take on a family.

The video can be found on the City’s social media platforms, including the City’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYyloWHhWWQ

On Aug. 13, Mayor Segarra released the first PSA, followed by a video on Aug. 27 that featured several City Council members highlighting the importance of following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and getting the COVID-19 vaccine. The City increased its release of several fliers throughout town, on social media and on the Government Channel 10 beginning Aug. 14, encouraging coronavirus vaccine and testing information.

This all comes as Bell County is at its highest COVID-19 threat level, which is severe, uncontrolled community transmission.

Leaders are asking everyone to continue to follow guidelines of washing hands, wearing a mask and social distancing— even if they’re fully vaccinated.

Residents are reminded that they can text their zip code to GETVAX (438829) for a list of nearby locations to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Each person is also sent information about free childcare and getting a ride to a vaccination site. Residents may also call the corresponding hotline at (800)232-0233 for supplemental information.
