KILLEEN, Texas (Sept. 13, 2022) – The Stormwater division of the City of Killeen’s Engineering department is inviting volunteers to join them for a Fall Stream Cleanup this Saturday, Sept. 17 at W.S. Young Drive and Trimmier Road from 9a.m. – 2p.m.
Residents will help clean the Trimmier Road ditch that runs along Lowe’s Boulevard in that area.
The City’s drainage areas can flow into creeks or rivers, so these services are scheduled throughout the year. These cleanup events help keep our waterways clear from trash and remove floatables and other items that may carry other pollutants, such as oil and grease, to the waterbodies.
Volunteers are asked to meet in the Lowe’s Parking Lot at the corner of Lowe’s Boulevard and South W.S. Young Drive. Volunteers can check in on site, so there is no need to pre-register. For more information, residents may call (254) 616-3172.
