City of Killeen Council approves new Executive Director of Recreation Services

Kelly Snook has 11 years of executive municipal experience

KILLEEN, Texas (Sept. 28, 2022) – The City of Killeen has hired Kelly Snook as the new Executive Director of Recreation Services. Council officially approved her appointment during last night’s City Council meeting.

Snook has more than 30 years of experience serving nine organizations, including municipalities, private practice, and nonprofit sectors. Of the 30, eleven have been in executive municipal positions.

Snook has spearheaded multi-million-dollar construction projects and lead Parks and Recreation departments for communities including the City of Houston, City of Austin, Missouri City, Texas and Galveston County.

She has a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in Landscaping Architecture from Texas A&M University in College Station. She is also a Texas Registered Landscape Architect and a Texas Licensed Irrigator.

Her most recent position is the Interim Director Culture, Parks and Recreation Department in Greely, Colo.

This position is responsible for several divisions, including Parks and Recreation, Aquatics, Volunteers and Seniors. Snook will coordinate activities, review and implement program changes, promote community service programs, and supervise maintenance, construction and repair of town parks, etc.
