Junior Service League of Killeen provides generous donation toward project.
The City of Killeen will unveil the Junior Service League of Killeen Fitness Court® at Lions Club Park Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The community is invited to the grand opening ceremony which will include equipment demonstrations, giveaways and prizes.
Located in the northwest area of Lions Club Park along the hike & bike trail, the court is free to use and will be open daily from dawn to dusk following the opening event.
The Fitness Court® is an outdoor bodyweight circuit training system designed to engage the total body by completing seven moves in seven minutes. The equipment accommodates beginners to experts with progressive intensity levels for each exercise. Situated on a shock-resistant sports floor, users can follow set routines or create custom workouts.
Killeen’s Fitness Court® is the first in Bell County and joins hundreds of locations across the United States. Through a mobile app, users can access videos, routines, and measure results.
Junior Service League of Killeen contributed $75,000 to bring this unique wellness amenity to our community. A National Fitness Campaign grant in the amount of $30,000 and a City of Killeen commitment of $30,000 provided the remainder of the project’s funding.
