KILLEEN, Texas (Aug. 18, 2025) – The City of Killeen and the National Mounted Warfare Foundation are partnering for the fourth straight year to highlight local military veterans by displaying them on our Hometown Heroes banners throughout the Historic Downtown District.
Throughout the month of November, 60 banners honoring military veterans will be prominently displayed.
The banners are an effort to honor local active-duty members, retirees, and veterans who have served at Fort Hood at any point in time.
Submissions for Hometown Heroes can be made at https://bit.ly/KilleenHometownHeroes and can be submitted by relatives, friends or the servicemembers. The deadline for submitting nominations is Sept. 16 and only 60 will be accepted. Please note, you must have a Google account to submit the form.
