KILLEEN, Texas (Jan. 21, 2026) – The Killeen City Council approved the creation of the 2026 Charter Review Committee during its Jan. 20 City Council meeting and is now accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the committee. Applications are due Friday, Jan. 30.
The Charter Review Committee is responsible for conducting a periodic review of the City of Killeen’s charter, operations and governing documents and making recommendations to the City Council regarding potential updates or amendments.
City Council will select and appoint committee members during its Tuesday, Feb. 3 meeting. Appointed members are required to attend the committee’s first meeting, which is scheduled on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 101 N. College St.
Residents interested in serving on the 2026 Charter Review Committee may apply online by completing the digital application. Paper or kiosk applications are also available at the City of Killeen Secretary’s Office, 101 N. College St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
