Repairs should be complete by Wednesday Sept. 29
Today the Transportation Division of the City of Killeen’s Public Works Department began repairs on flashing traffic signals at the intersections of W.S. Young Drive and Terrace Drive, as well as Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Rosewood Drive.
Repairs are expected to be complete within 24-48 hours. During these repairs, other intersections may also be affected and intersections may be temporarily darkened. Weather and other factors may affect the repair timeline.
This work will require various closures at varying times—single, multiple or entire road closures may occur during this project. There will be a series of traffic control devices in place to guide motor vehicles around the work zone and closure. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.
As a reminder:
- A Flashing Red signal light means the same as a stop sign. Please bring your car to a complete stop before traveling through the intersection.
- An intersection with no operable signal light must be treated as a four-way stop. If you arrive at the same time as another vehicle, the car farthest to the right goes first.
Motorists should anticipate delays and are asked to use caution, obey signage and to pay attention to workers and equipment.
The City of Killeen apologizes for any inconvenience as a result of this work and appreciates your cooperation and patience.
