KILLEEN, Texas (May 16, 2022) – The City of Killeen’s Department of Public Works’ Solid Waste Division has announced that some residential routes may be altered and/or delayed the rest of this week due to the current HA5 High Density Mineral Bond Seal service project, as well as a driver shortage.
Currently the following streets scheduled for Monday, May 16, collection will be picked up Tuesday, May 17:
- Osbaldo Drive
- Calc Stone Drive – Between Platinum Drive and Bedrock Drive
- Platinum Drive – Between Turquois Drive and Platin um Drive
- Tanzanite Drive – Between Citrine Drive and Diorite Drive
- Gemstone Way – Between Siltstone Loop and Flag Stone Drive
In addition, some customers on Pewitt Ranch Road and Spirit of the West Drive may be contacted to have their collection serviced a day early.
Other areas and streets may also be affected. If resident’s trash has not been picked up on its regularly scheduled service day, it will be picked up the following morning. Residents are asked to be patient, keep their containers curbside, and only contact collection services if their containers have not been serviced at least 48 hours past their scheduled time.
As a reminder, residents are able to dispose of up to an additional 300 lbs. of trash/bulk items per month at no cost at the transfer station, located at 12200 State Highway 195.
The service delays are due to the HA5 High Density Mineral Bond Seal service, which is completely closing more than two dozen streets.
