Library and Conference Center team up to spark creativity.
The City of Killeen is hosting Maker Day, a new event focused on inspiring creativity through crafts. The public is invited to participate August 23 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Killeen Civic & Conference Center.
Designed with interactive activities for all ages, participants will get hands-on with paper crafts, slime-making, rock painting and fabric weaving. Ordinary will be made extraordinary when recycled and household materials are transformed into bird feeders, bath scrubs, holiday decorations and more. All supplies are provided, and crafters get to take their masterpieces home.
Professional craft makers will display their works including medieval bows and arrows and contemporary character plushies. A 23,000-brick LEGO castle will also be on view in a LEGO play area.
The event is free, and no registration is required.
