The City of Killeen’s trash collections will run on an amended schedule during the week of the Christmas.
The City of Killeen Offices are closed on Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26.
Trash collection for Monday Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Dec. 27 will run one day late.
The transfer station will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 23 and closed Dec 24-26.
The Recycling Center will be closed Dec. 23-26.
The city will be offering bulk collection pick up Tuesday, Dec. 27 – Friday, Dec. 30. The City will provide additional bulk pick up of Christmas-related waste, free of charge during those dates. Items include packages from gifts and up to four additional bags of trash for the week following Christmas Day.
Residents are asked to place garbage in plastic bags no larger than 33 gallons, or boxes no larger than eight cubic feet wide at the curbside at least four feet away from the roll-out container by 7a.m. on your special collection day. This collection does not include bulky items like furniture, tires, construction waste or appliances. A fee will be assessed for those items.
The City’s annual Christmas Tree Recycling event will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at the Special Events Center from 9a.m. – 1p.m.
Our Family Recreation Center will be closed Dec. 24-25, and open 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 26. Other days will follow normal operation hours.
