Killeen Citizens Academy 2026

Killeen Citizens Academy

The free, eight-week course will run every Thursday, from Jan. 15 – Mar. 12, 2026 and gives citizens a look at how municipalities are run. The program aims to improve citizen engagement and help create a better Killeen. This is an opportunity to give Residents an inside look at their tax dollars at work. Participants will receive detailed information on a variety of City departments, functions and programs. They will also interact with staff and tour various City facilities.

Classes occur once a week for eight weeks and graduation is on Mar. 12, 2026. Applications will open on Monday, November 3, 2025, or until the program reaches capacity.

The Killeen Citizens Academy is a free program that began in 2014 and participants interact with elected officials and city staff to get an inside look at city operations.

Participants must be 18 years of age, cannot be running for political office and cannot be engaged in litigation against the City.

Killeen and Fort Hood residents will be given priority enrollment.
