City releases scheduling changes for Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday

Offices are closed, trash collection schedule will be unchanged

KILLEEN, Texas (Jan. 14, 2026) – City of Killeen offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

This includes both the Main Library and Copper Mountain Branch Library, the Senior Center and the Solid Waste Administration Building.

First National Bank Texas Family Recreation Center will be open from 5a.m. – 5p.m. and all trash collection routes will remain unchanged. The Transfer Station will be open from 8a.m. to 1p.m.

The Killeen Recycling Center will be closed, and all recycling trailers will be available at the rodeo grounds at 3601 South WS Young Drive.

Emergency services will continue without interruption.

City offices will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
