The City of Killeen Community Development Division has placed the Killeen First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program (HAP) on hold until further notice. This is due in part to rising costs associated with purchasing a home, minimum requirements associated with down payment and closing costs for purchasing a home in Killeen, the maximum purchase price, as dictated by HUD, for existing housing units, and the long term commitment of occupancy statutorily required by the Home Investment Partnerships Act Program (HOME).
Currently we are not adding any new mortgage lenders or real estate agents. We are monitoring the housing market closely to ensure the program returns to assist low-income buyers who want to purchase in Killeen.
