About the Academy
The Killeen Police Department’s Academy Training Center is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) licensed law enforcement academy. Our mission is to provide training to licensed Texas Peace Officers including State, Federal and Military Law Enforcement Agencies.
Our administrative offices are located at 3304 Community Boulevard in Killeen, while our Academy and Tactical Firearms Range is located in south Killeen on FM195.
In addition to a full time training staff we use personnel from within the department who are licensed TCOLE instructors specializing in various police topics as well as other agencies to assist us in our training mission. We have the ability to train personnel in virtually all law enforcement related topics.
Since we are centrally located, our Tactical Firearms Training Facility frequently trains Federal, State and Local Agencies, as well as Military Law Enforcement.
Additionally, we are responsible for recruiting and hiring police employees. For information regarding employment opportunities with the Killeen Police Department please visit our employment page.
